Discipleship Training

Christian Education for Spiritual Transformation
Discipleship Training is an avenue for personal growth.  Discipleship Training is not just Bible study, but rather a program designed to establish Biblical disciplines to promote the maturity of every believer in relationship with Jesus Christ.  This training is a multidimensional training study that will surely strengthen your walk with Christ as well as your understanding of the Bible.  It is an absolute MUST for your Spiritual maturity.

DISCIPLE I
Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study is the first study in this exciting program.  The study emphasizes the importance of the Bible.  Participants will read about 75% of the Bible.   Students will work their way from the beginning of the Old Testament to the end of the New Testament, getting a broad overview of the Bible.  The 34 week study is designed so that each lesson reinforces and builds on the previous sessions.  Week 1 begins with Genesis, and Week 34 concludes with Revelation.  The final two sessions are for identification of ministry and leadership roles.  The final class is a celebration of the Holy Communion.

DISCIPLE II
Into the Word Into The World encourages participants to avail themselves to hearing what God has to say to them through the Bible and to be guided into active service in the world by their study of Scripture.   This 32 week study selects specific portions of scripture for closer analysis.  Extensive study of Scripture will be the work of both the individual and the collective group during its weekly meeting.  Equal attention is given to Old and New Testaments with a special concentration on four books:  Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts (8 lessons on each book).

DISCIPLE III
Remember Who You Are is prepared for those who have completed BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY.  Resident in the title is the driving idea in this study – the connection between memory and identity as the people of God.  The word “You” in the title is meant to be heard both in its singular form (the individual) and its plural form (the community).  We are a community of memory.  Participants in the 32 week study will read the major and minor Old Testament prophets, with the exception of Daniel, and will read the thirteen letters traditionally attributed to Paul.

DISCIPLE IV
Under The Tree of Life is a 32 week study prepared for graduates of BECOMING DISCIPLES TRHOUGH BIBLE STUDY.  The word “Under” in the title is meant to convey invitation, welcome, sheltering, security and rest – home at last.  The Hebrew version of what Christians call the Old Testament has three divisions: Torah (the first five books of the Bible), the Prophets, and the Writings.  This study focuses on the Writings in the Old Testament:  Ruth, 1st & 2nd Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Lamentations, and Daniel.  New   Testament Scriptures include the Gospel of John, 1st, 2nd & 3rd John, James Jude and Revelations.

JESUS IN THE GOSPELS
Jesus In The Gospels invites believers to look at Jesus in each of the four Gospels and ask the question, “who is the Jesus that you see?”   This study will deepen discipleship through insightful examination of the biblical texts and their message.  This study looks at the way each Gospel writer presents events and teachings and at the picture of Jesus that emerges.  This study challenges students to examine  two views of Jesus Christ (the view of Jesus as we enter the study and the view of Jesus as we exit the study).  THE GOSPELS takes participants on a journey from one view to the other.

SLAYING THE GIANTS IN YOUR LIFE
Slaying the Giants in Your Life strengthens believers and promotes spiritual endurance to overcome the giants in our lives.  This study prepares students by exposing the giants, both spiritual and emotional.   These giants sometimes lurk hidden in the shadows and prevent us from experiencing the full magnitude of God’s promises.  Participants in the study will dig deeper into the Scriptures to not only discover, but equip themselves with the armor necessary to become and remain victorious over life’s many giants.

 DISCIPLE I (YOUTH)
Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study is the foundational phase of DISCIPLE adapted specifically for youth.  The aim of this youth edition is to promote disciplined reading and study of the entire Bible, resulting in biblically nourished youth committed to live as disciples.  This study encourages youth to bring their experiences and struggles to Scripture and to discover for themselves what the Bible says instead of relying on someone to tell them what the Bible says.
